About Nick Powell

Nick was born and raised in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He began playing golf at the age of 7 at Elmhurst Country Club and Edmundson Golf Course. He attended Oskaloosa High School where he finished 3rd in the State Tournament as a Senior. He was also named the Iowa PGA Junior Player of the Year in 2003.

Nick first played collegiate golf at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. While playing at Indian Hills, the team was ranked in the top 3 in the country in NJCAA Division I. After graduating from Indian Hills, he attended William Penn University and played on the golf team before graduating in 2008. Nick began his professional career at The Club at Porto Cima in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. After spending 3 seasons at Porto Cima, he accepted an assistant golf professional position at The Country Club at Muirfield Village where he spent 12 years. In January of 2023, Nick accepted the Head Golf Professional position at Darby Creek Golf Course in Marysville, Ohio.

Nick has lived in Marysville since 2016. He is married to Kellie, has 2 high school children and 1 child in college. He enjoys spending time with family, watching his kids play sports, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, helping take care of their dogs and of course, playing golf.
